Cypress
essential oil is distilled
from the leaves and
cones of the (Cupressus Sempervirens)
tree. The scent is refreshing
and clear. Cypress essential
oil regulates body fluids,
restores vitality, and
is a good toner. It
is used on broken capillaries,
wounds, and problem
skin. This oil is also
used in the treatment
of colds, bronchitis,
flu, incontinence, nervous
disorders, menopausal
symptoms, hemorrhoids,
nosebleeds, excess sweating,
and circulatory problems.
Cypress
essential oil is astringent
and relaxing. It is good
for all types of excess
fluid production including
swelling, edema, heavy
periods, and diarrhea.
Try a few drops of cypress
on a handkerchief to
relieve nasal congestion.
When used in the bath,
cypress oil helps relieve
aching legs and swollen
ankles.
Cypress
is also used as a
natural deodorant,
insect repellant, and
mild sedative (although
it can also be stimulating).
It helps rid the body
of cellulite and restores
moisture to aging skin.
Cypress oil calms over
talkative people. It
is good to use in times
of change especially
during moves, career
changes, and periods
of grief. Avoid cypress
if you suffer from high
blood pressure and never
massage the areas around
varicose veins while
using this oil.
